Hand it to Cicero, who was far-seeing more than 2,000 years ago: “What greater or better gift can we offer the republic than to teach and instruct our youth?”
Notice he said “teach and instruct” and not the modern formulation: “indoctrinate.” What indoctrination, you ask? Well, we could start in several places, but let’s go with transgender.
Trans is a modern movement that supposes God didn’t have it quite right when gendering our species, and our enlightened progressives would like to take that over for him. And with the help of the powerful so-called teacher unions and some pretty sick legislators, they’ve been able to bring this campaign to campus.
You remember “campus,” right? That’s where you used to learn language, math, history, and social studies? Not so much anymore.
So as this notion took root in the early 2000s – just as the nihilists and anarchists were filling American streets with rioters and the media declined to cover it – the schools became hotbeds for trans pushers. The pop media didn’t cover that, either.
Their serial dereliction stands starkly in the case of AB Hernandez.
In Southern California, a transgender boy has been running roughshod over the girls in track meets. However you say it, AB Hernandez is a stud. At the recent Southern Section championships, the Jurupa Valley High School athlete won the long jump by more than a foot over the nearest competitor – and took the top step in the high jump and triple jump, too.
Oddly, after forcing everyone to endure this, track officials then had the second-place athletes in those events take the top step too. Some did, some, out of sheer disgust, didn’t. But AB Hernandez’s mother, who has energetically defended her child’s right to compete against girls, ripped them anyway.
One might wonder what this will “teach and instruct” today’s youth.
Some states, evidently trying to keep up with California, enacted trans laws of their own, but none are as expert as California, where numerous “rainbow” interests found their greatest supporter in Gavin Newsom, the state’s governor.
A longtime ostentatious backer of sexualizing children, championing same-sex marriage and embracing trans ideology, Newsom apparently has had a change of heart. Earlier in the year Newsom said trans athletes competing in girls’ sports is “deeply unfair.”
Well then. Newsom’s state has gone to the trouble of legally recognizing three genders – male, female, and something called non-binary. In fact, Newsom signed SB 179 himself in 2019, making it the new law. We even have that third gender option for our driver’s licenses.
So California has three legal genders but offers school sports competitions to only two genders. What does this “teach and instruct” the young people of California?
Nothing. It only indoctrinates them.
Now voters have to deal with low and falling test scores, sexualization of the youngest pupils, out-of-control radical unions, and a trans industry that’s not only Big Pharma’s dream movement, but which is ruining not only the kids drawn into their web, but their entire families along the way.
Right there on campus.
Cicero had been trying to help his republic save itself, something that didn’t quite work out then (the Roman Empire finally collapsed) and might not, sadly, work out now unless voters start getting rid of some of this poison.
